Diamond H Family Ranch Cow Herd
On the hills of Northeast Texas you will find our herd. Shades of red, white, black and brown contrast the green grass.

How it started...
It all started on a little over 300 leased acres in West Texas.
Dustin and his brother-in-law bought a mixture of Red Angus and Angus cows from a local sale barn, found a couple bulls that were a good deal, and formed a small herd.
Through trial and error and lots of good times, Dustin began learning about beef cows and the beef industry.
The picture above hangs in Dustin's office, it's a picture of the original herd. It is a constant reminder of God's faithfullness towards us.

How it's going...
Currently our herd is made up of Red Angus cows we brought with us from that original herd, Brangus, Beefmaster, Charolais, and just about everything in between.
We are currently using registered Red Angus bulls for breeding on our cow herd and registered American Akaushi bulls on our replacement heifer herd.
We are so thankful for these hardworking cows. We each have favorite cows in our herd. Dustin loves the red baldy (white face) and original red Angus cows, Joy loves the couple tigerstripe cows, the kids love cow 17 (Bella - a calf with a broken leg who we nursed back to health and is now raising her first calf 2 years later)

Where we are headed...
Genetics.
Genetics is a passion that Dustin learned from his dad while working at their family dairy farm. Doug (Dustin's dad) loved genetics and knew that in order to succeed in the dairy industry he needed good cows bred by good bulls. Doug grew his herd to be one of the best in New Mexico.
Improving genetics is a marathon, not a sprint. Our plan at Diamond H Family Ranch is to move to a registered and full blooded Red Angus and Akaushi herd.
Why? Because we believe it will improve our product to our consumer.
